Bring on next week!!!
It’s been hard finding time to get on tumblr, my kids have been keeping me crazy busy and warn out.
11 weeks to go! I think I’m done with speed workouts and onto strength workouts on tuesday, we’ll see how that goes.
Lots of little blisters on most of my toes.
I’m a lucky man. My wifey brought home some samples of Benzoin Tincture and some Elastikon tape for me to try out taping my feet :)

8 easy miles on the treadmill @ 9:15 min/mile. It snowed about 3-4 inches overnight and I just don’t wanna run on that with the ice underneath.
150 miles for February, most I’ve done in a while,
also, 48 miles this week!
legs are feeling great and refreshed with today’s run. 54 miles scheduled for this week!
I can’t wait until Tuesday when I get to do my speed workout.
This will be my 5th summer running, and I can’t believe I’ve never done speed workouts before. All I did was just run.
All I want is a large pizza all to myself right now. There is no junk food in my house and that’s all I want. I don’t want to eat good today. I need a cheat meal really bad.

10 sweet miles on the treadmill @ 9:15min/mile
TV wasn’t working, so my backup plan was to listen to pandora’s 90’s alternative as loud as I could. I had way to much energy, so the last 5 miles or so I was belting out lyrics in a way my 3 kids could be super embarrassed of me. I win.
Now I’m drinking an angry orchard hard cider, not bad ohio.

6 miles on the treadmill @ 9:15 min/mile
Also plugged in a kWh (kiloWatt.hour) meter for today’s 6 miles on the treadmill. It equaled 1.05 kWh.
1.05 kWh / 6 miles = 0.175 kWh/mile
Looking at my consumers energy bill, a kWh costs me 0.131 $/kWh
0.175 kWh/mile X 0.131 $/kWh = 0.023 $/mile
0.023 $/mile X 6 miles = $0.138
It cost me almost 14 cents to run 6 miles on my treadmill.

1.5 miles warm up @ 9:15 min/mile
7.0 miles tempo @ 8:30 min/mile
1.5 miles cool down @ 9:15 min/mile
Legs are a bit tight, feeling great!
Never worked out yesterday. Ended up taking an unplanned 2.5 hour nap on the couch. Guess my body needed it.
…rest day from running…not working out, not sure what yet, but something plus the row machine I bought my wifey for her bday.
Some thoughts for today:
1) I’m 100% sure I’m not going to try and sign up for the Chicago Marathon this year. I’ve ran it the past two years and loved every minute of it, but the funds aren’t here this year. My fall long race will probably be the runwoodstock 50k. Way cheaper and local enough where I won’t have to get a hotel…but I may camp out there for the weekend. That race sign up will depend on how my spring marathon goes. I was really disappointed how last years fall marathons went with my calf muscles cramping up. So hopefully following the Hansons Marathon method (a lot more miles than the plan last year) will better prepare my legs.
2) My 59 year old uncle ran his 1st 1/2 marathon in 20+ years this weekend and ran it in 1hr 59 minutes. I hope I’m still running 1/2’s when I’m 59. He did puke after he crossed the finish line….somebody’s got to do it right?
3) I want to run so badly outside tomorrow, I may even have daylight to do it in, but the dirt roads I live down are crazy covered in ice, not sure its the greatest idea.

Speed workout today!!!
1.5 mile warmup @ 9:15 min/mile
5 X 0.75 mile @ 6:54 min/mile
5 X 0.25 mile recovery @ 9:15 min/mile
1.5 mile cool down @ 9:15 min/mile
Total of 8 miles in 65ish minutes!
Legs are feeling great! Next speed workout I go faster, I know I got more in me.
Bayshore Marathon week 13 day 1
12 miles yesterday on treadmill
6 miles this morning on treadmill
running is getting very repetitive.
legs are feeling great, still taping my feet’s hot spots for blisters.
I hope to get some outside runs in this week, except for tomorrow, I kind of like doing speed workouts on the treadmill.
Bayshore marathon week …
1.5 mile warmup @ 9:00 min/mile
6 miles at 8:30 min/mile
1.5 miles cool down @ 9:15 min/mile
Treadmill. Both feet were crazy taped up. I put a little fan in front of the treadmill and pointed it at my feet. I’m thinking the airflow will help remove the moisture in shoes and socks cooling off some hot spots on my feet where I got blisters. I guess it worked.
I’m choking down my dinner right now. Over cooked dried out chicken and a plate full of flavorless broccoli, cauliflower and carrots.
