4 miles!!! Pushed distance and pace a bit. Knee was sore before start, limping/small buckling of right knee entire run, right hand/arm went numb last mile, couldn’t wake arm up, I’m thinking it was because of bad running form pinching some nerve in back, who knows. Felt good overall!
Couple miles on the treadmill, 2.6 I think.
I was doing some intervals, not high intensity like I used to, or the speed I used to.
I was trying to find a moderate high speed to work the knee/leg/lungs a bit for a short period of time.
Recovery after 2 knee surgeries with an infected knee joint sucks.
I plan to run 4 this weekend to see if the knee will hold up!!!!
3 miles, I’m not liking running to much. Small sharp shooting pain in knee every step for 3 miles, still limping. Plus lungs just aren’t built up like they used to be ( it’s like I’m a newbie runner experiencing running pains all over again, something I had forgotten about how hard it is to start up). Little discouraged in the healing progress of my knee, a lot discouraged at my ortho surgeon appointment couple days ago. Short story is I may never have the knee strength I used to, the body only heals for so long, when it’s done, that’s how my knee will be for life. And I have lots of scar tissue in my knee joint to heal!!! I’m scheduled to get some xrays in a few weeks. All these long runs/races this weekend are fun to see!!!
3 miles, still limping while running, fluid still swishing around in knee while running. I’ll take it for now!
3.0 miles. Little slower than my first run back, little more limping too. The run itself felt good.
One day at a time.
Thanks for all the welcome backs!
1st run in 80 days, 3.1 miles, not bad!!
1) fluid in knee felt as if it were the size of a water balloon swishing around for first mile
2) stupid 100lb dog was out, same one I called the police on last year for almost killing me
3) right foot points outward a few degrees, hopefully this will correct itself when quad gets more strength
4) hills suck when you have no stamina
5) I was limping a bit the entire run, last 1/10th mile limping a lot, right quad/ leg muscles not even closely as strong as left leg
6) I missed that nasty salty sweat dripping in my eyes!
1st day of PT went well! I need one of these ice cold water compression machines at home for after long runs!!!
My right leg muscles are so incredibly weak it’s just pathetic. My leg and leg muscles vibrate like crazy when trying to do simple leg movements. Some exercises I cannot control or flex my quad muscles, they are just dead, no brain to muscle connection. I tell my muscle to flex and nothing happens, so strange.
9 weeks exactly to the thorn day.
Hello Tumblr! It’s been eight weeks since I last ran my 10 1/2 miles.
I got my picc line taken out today so tomorrow I should be doing a push-up pull-up core workout
My knee still swollen and inflamed as you can see from the pics I got an ortho appointment later this week maybe I can start some PT
I’m in the worst shape I’ve been in in five years. I’ve done no workouts in eight weeks yikes!
A thorn like the two in the pic, can cost you up to $32,000. Hospital charged $32,000 for both surgeries, insurance approved and payed for. $25,653. My copayment: $40!!!
Still not very mobile. I can bend my leg /knee 110 degrees now! Walking limping around still. Inflammation has mostly gone down around knee.
I’m on iv antibiotics for a forth week making it a 28 day cycle. Nasty stuff.
I try and check in once and a while to check out your running post. Very jealous!
